Still Standing
This is a 1/10 scale sculpture of "Stan", a magnificent T. rex specimen on display at the Black Hills Museum of Natural History in South Dakota. The fossil shows a lot of evidence that the rex was attacked and wounded several times in it's life. All the wounds on the sculpture correspond to those on the fossil. I wanted to get a sense that he is an old survivor, a "John Wayne True Grit" type character, that is beaten, but not bowed. It's a bit different to portray a T. rex without his mouth wide open.
