Mini
biography:
John
was
a
comparatively
late
starter
in
his
acting
career,
having
his
first
role
in
the
stage
musical
“Jesus
Christ
Superstar”
in
1999
at
the
age
of
39.
He
spent
his
earlier
years
as
a
musician,
and
played
drums
and
sang
in
professional
dance
bands
through
the
70’s
and
early
80’s.
John
was
born
and
bought
up
in
Christchurch
New
Zealand,
and
moved
to
Auckland
New
Zealand
after
he
quit
the
music
business
in
1987.
A
chance
one-off
gig
playing
drums
backing
a
stage
revue
in
Auckland
got
him
thinking,
and
after
auditioning
and
scoring
his
first
role
as
one
of
the
priests
in
J.S.
Superstar
in
1989,
he
has
continued
to
‘walk
the
boards’
in
many
many
stage
productions.
He
took
acting
for
film
classes,
and
started
auditioning
for
film
and
television
roles.
After
the
usual
round
of
disappointments
and
hard
slog,
John
has
since
appeared
regularly
on
various
television
drama’s
and
commercials,
and
has
had
roles
in
many
short
films
and
feature
films.
John
is
single,
lives
in
Auckland,
and
is
a
bit
of
an
animal
fanatic.
His
’best
friend’
is
an
8
year
old
blue
roan
English
Cocker
Spaniel
called
“Blue”.
